SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 147
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Shannon McClendon, who is stepping down from her
position as a member of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers
after eight years of outstanding service; and
WHEREAS, A licensed practicing attorney, she was selected
as the public board member in 2002, and she has served the state
with distinction during her tenure; she served as interim
secretary of the board during the summer of 2008 before advancing
to the position of board secretary, a position she held for the
remainder of her term; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her time on the board, she has been
noted for her superior skills and expertise; talented and
resourceful, she has handled her many responsibilities with
exceptional efficiency and dedication; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, she is respected and
admired by her colleagues, and her presence on the Texas Board of
Professional Engineers will be greatly missed; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby commend Shannon McClendon on her exceptional
service to the people of Texas as a member of the Texas Board of
Professional Engineers and extend to her best wishes for
continued success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
