WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize Bradford S. Wheeler for his many years of loyal service | ||
to the citizens of this country through his career with the | ||
Federal Bureau of Investigation and his ongoing work fighting | ||
crime in the Dallas-Fort Worth area; and | ||
WHEREAS, Bradford Wheeler graduated from Texas Tech | ||
University with a bachelor of business administration degree and | ||
a major in accounting; he was appointed as a special agent with | ||
the Federal Bureau of Investigation in July of 1976 and served | ||
for three decades, retiring in December of 2005; and | ||
WHEREAS, During his career with the bureau, he served in | ||
the Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Dallas, | ||
and Fort Worth offices and specialized in white-collar crime, | ||
including bank fraud and embezzlement, health care fraud, | ||
securities fraud, mortgage fraud, Ponzi schemes, advance fee | ||
schemes, and public corruption; he was involved in several | ||
high-profile investigations, and his work led to indictments and | ||
convictions in numerous complex cases; and | ||
WHEREAS, After retiring from the Federal Bureau of | ||
Investigation, he helped initiate an investigative unit at a | ||
major law firm in Dallas; in 2007 he joined the Economic Crimes | ||
Unit in the office of the Tarrant County Criminal District | ||
Attorney in Fort Worth, where he has worked in a variety of | ||
economic crime investigations; he currently focuses on mortgage | ||
fraud cases; and | ||
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Wheeler has earned | ||
numerous commendations; a man of integrity and dedication, he has | ||
earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the | ||
citizens in the Dallas and Tarrant County communities; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
Legislature, hereby commend Bradford S. Wheeler for his | ||
exceptional service and his many contributions to this country | ||
and the State of Texas; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
