| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Lorette Williams, who was recently elected president | ||
| of the Texas School Public Relations Association; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas School Public Relations Association was | ||
| chartered in 1962 as a chapter of the National School Public | ||
| Relations Association; the organization provides professional | ||
| development, resources, and networking opportunities for members | ||
| of the Texas public education community; and | ||
| WHEREAS, President-elect Williams is the director of | ||
| communications for Corpus Christi Independent School District | ||
| and is a 10-year veteran of the association; she previously | ||
| served on the chapter's Executive Committee as the Gulf Coast | ||
| Area vice president and parliamentarian, and in 2011, she was | ||
| honored as the association's Most Valuable Member; and | ||
| WHEREAS, For the last decade, Lorette has played an | ||
| integral role in the success of the Texas School Public Relations | ||
| Association and has worked diligently on behalf of Texas | ||
| educators; she will begin her new leadership role on February 25, | ||
| 2015; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Lorette Williams for her dedication | ||
| to the public schools of Texas and congratulate her on her | ||
| election as president of the Texas School Public Relations | ||
| Association; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
