	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 116
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize Lorette Williams, who was recently elected president
	of the Texas School Public Relations Association; and

	WHEREAS, The Texas School Public Relations Association was
	chartered in 1962 as a chapter of the National School Public
	Relations Association; the organization provides professional
	development, resources, and networking opportunities for members
	of the Texas public education community; and

	WHEREAS, President-elect Williams is the director of
	communications for Corpus Christi Independent School District
	and is a 10-year veteran of the association; she previously
	served on the chapter's Executive Committee as the Gulf Coast
	Area vice president and parliamentarian, and in 2011, she was
	honored as the association's Most Valuable Member; and

	WHEREAS, For the last decade, Lorette has played an
	integral role in the success of the Texas School Public Relations
	Association and has worked diligently on behalf of Texas
	educators; she will begin her new leadership role on February 25,
	2015; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
	Legislature, hereby commend Lorette Williams for her dedication
	to the public schools of Texas and congratulate her on her
	election as president of the Texas School Public Relations
	Association; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
