| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Dollie and Jesus Lucio of Brownsville for their | ||
| exemplary success with English Motors, Incorporated; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dollie and Jesus began their entrepreneurial | ||
| efforts in the automotive industry with the $500 they received as | ||
| a wedding gift from Jesus's father; through astute trading and an | ||
| eye for quality vehicles, they were able to successfully increase | ||
| their original investment into enough capital to start a small | ||
| inventory, and they rented their first location in 1989; and | ||
| WHEREAS, They began with an inventory of only seven | ||
| vehicles and a single-room building as headquarters; since then, | ||
| their hard work has enabled them to enlarge the operation; they | ||
| now own two locations, and their sound business practices and | ||
| strong relationships with financial institutions have given them | ||
| sufficient flexibility to offer expanded financing opportunities | ||
| to their customers; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through the years, their children have also | ||
| played an important role in the growth of the business; they have | ||
| each contributed in various ways to its success and have made | ||
| their parents very proud; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dollie and Jesus Lucio are truly deserving of | ||
| recognition for their determination, their hard work, and their | ||
| commitment to excellence; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Dollie and Jesus Lucio on their | ||
| outstanding efforts in establishing and building English Motors, | ||
| Incorporated, and extend to them best wishes for continued | ||
| success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
