| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Glenda Gean Wilkerson, who retired from the Texas | ||
| Education Agency on January 29, 2021, after 35 years of | ||
| outstanding service to the state; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Glenda Wilkerson served the Texas Education | ||
| Agency with distinction, and in the course of her career with the | ||
| agency, she assisted students, families, and communities | ||
| throughout the state; through her dedication and tireless | ||
| efforts to improve educational outcomes in Texas, she created a | ||
| positive and lasting impact on the lives of countless Texans; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Her steadfast commitment to her work and her | ||
| expertise in her field made her a valuable asset to the agency, and | ||
| in recognition of her many outstanding achievements, she received | ||
| the J. Warren Hitt Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor | ||
| awarded to employees of the Texas Education Agency; and | ||
| WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, she is respected and | ||
| admired by her colleagues, and her presence at the Texas | ||
| Education Agency will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Glenda Gean Wilkerson on her | ||
| exceptional service to the people of Texas as an employee of the | ||
| Texas Education Agency and extend to her best wishes for the | ||
| future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
