| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| join the citizens of Howard County and Texans across the state in | ||
| celebrating February 10, 2015, as Howard County Day at the | ||
| Capitol; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Howard County is situated in the heart of West | ||
| Texas; the county has a thriving diversified economy and is noted | ||
| as a center for the petroleum industry, and for education, health | ||
| care, agriculture, transportation, and manufacturing; Big | ||
| Spring, Coahoma, and Forsan have a rich history and are | ||
| prospering; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Howard County offers residents and visitors a | ||
| wide variety of recreational opportunities; the county is home to | ||
| Big Spring State Park, Comanche Trail Park, and Moss Lake; the | ||
| Heritage Museum and the Hangar 25 Air Museum are a source of | ||
| valuable insights into the region's history; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The people of Howard County are deeply devoted to | ||
| their communities and to the land that has shaped them; they are | ||
| confidently looking forward to a prosperous future while | ||
| continuing to embrace their rich and colorful past; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the people of Howard County on their | ||
| many contributions to the growth and prosperity of our state and | ||
| extend to them best wishes for a memorable Howard County Day at | ||
| the Capitol; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in | ||
| honor of this special occasion. | ||
