| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the City of Graham, which is hosting its first annual | ||
| food-truck championship competition on its historic downtown | ||
| square; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This inaugural event will draw some of the most | ||
| talented food-truck chefs in Texas to compete for a $10,000 grand | ||
| prize and the Food Truck Champion title; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The festivities will also include the Possum Pedal | ||
| Bike Ride, an art show hosted by the Old Post Office Museum, and a | ||
| variety of children's events, and the day will come to a close | ||
| with a concert by renowned Texas musician Robert Earl Keen; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Visitors will be traveling from around the state | ||
| to taste some of the best food-truck wares Texas has to offer and | ||
| to enjoy the charm and vitality of America's largest downtown | ||
| square; proceeds of the event will help maintain the unique | ||
| beauty of the historic city; and | ||
| WHEREAS, It is indeed appropriate to honor the City of | ||
| Graham on the occasion of this exciting inaugural event; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby join the City of Graham in recognizing June | ||
| 6, 2015, as Food Truck Championship of Texas on America's Largest | ||
| Downtown Square Day; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the city as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
