	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 101
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins Texans
	across the state in observing February of 2015 as Turner Syndrome
	Awareness Month; and

	WHEREAS, Turner Syndrome is a non-inheritable chromosomal
	disorder that prevents the female body from maturing naturally;
	the condition occurs in approximately one of every 2,000 female
	births; and

	WHEREAS, The syndrome presents itself through a wide array
	of symptoms, and its properties are different in each woman
	affected; early diagnosis facilitates remediation of growth
	failure and other difficulties, and with care by medical
	specialists, women with the syndrome can live a healthy life; and

	WHEREAS, For many years, Turner Syndrome has received
	inadequate funding for research and treatment, and it is truly
	fitting that a month be set aside to draw attention to the need
	for greater funding and awareness of the condition; now,
	therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
	Legislature, hereby encourage Texans to support services for
	those affected by Turner Syndrome, as well as research on the
	disorder, and extend best wishes to all for a productive and
	rewarding Turner Syndrome Awareness Month; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
	honor of Turner Syndrome Awareness Month.
