| BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by | ||
| adding Section 36 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 36. RIGHT TO REFUSE MEDICAL TREATMENT; ACCESS TO | ||
| PUBLIC ACCOMMODATIONS. (a) Each individual residing in this state | ||
| has the right to refuse any medical treatment, including a | ||
| procedure, vaccine, medical device, or prophylactic, and a person | ||
| may not interfere with or impede that right in any manner. | ||
| (b) A person may not restrict or deny an individual's access | ||
| to public accommodations based on the individual's exercise of the | ||
| right guaranteed under Subsection (a) of this section to refuse a | ||
| medical treatment. | ||
| SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
| submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2023. | ||
| The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
| proposition: "The constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right | ||
| of individuals to refuse medical treatments and to access public | ||
| accommodations." | ||
