| WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Johnny Trotter of Hereford on the occasion of his | ||
| induction into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame was established to | ||
| honor those men and women who have excelled in the sport and | ||
| business of rodeo and who have advanced the western lifestyle in | ||
| Texas; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Johnny Trotter is president of the American Quarter | ||
| Horse Association; for many years, he has focused his efforts on | ||
| racing and roping and on issues related to the use of horses in | ||
| ranch work and breeding; he is an avid team roper and has | ||
| participated in numerous competitions, including the World Series | ||
| of Team Roping; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Trotter is also the chief executive officer of | ||
| Livestock Investors, Limited, and an executive committee member of | ||
| First Financial Bankshares, Incorporated; he has been active in a | ||
| wide range of community and philanthropic organizations, including | ||
| the West Texas A&M University Foundation, the Make-A-Wish | ||
| Foundation, and the Spicer Gripp Memorial Youth Foundation; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He is respected and admired for his many | ||
| contributions to his community and the ranching and rodeo | ||
| industries of Texas, and it is truly fitting that he receive special | ||
| recognition; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the 84th Legislature of the State of Texas | ||
| hereby commend Johnny Trotter on his many achievements and extend | ||
| congratulations to him on his 2015 induction into the Texas Cowboy | ||
| Hall of Fame; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for him | ||
| as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
