| relating to the oath of a person admitted to practice law in the | ||
| State of Texas. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 82.037(a), Government Code, is amended | ||
| to read as follows: | ||
| (a) Each person admitted to practice law shall, before | ||
| receiving a license, take an oath that the person will: | ||
| (1) support the constitutions of the United States and | ||
| this state; | ||
| (2) honestly demean oneself [ |
||
| of law; [ |
||
| (3) discharge the attorney's duty to the attorney's | ||
| [ |
||
| (4) conduct oneself with integrity and civility in | ||
| dealing and communicating with the court and all parties. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
