S.B. No. 512

AN ACT
relating to the qualification of supervisors of a fresh water
supply district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 53.063, Water Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), to be qualified
for election as a supervisor:
(1) [,] a person must be:
(A) [(1)] a resident of this state;
(B) [(2)] the owner of taxable property in the
district; and
(C) [(3)] at least 18 years of age; or
(2) a person must be a registered voter of the
district.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
