| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 322, Government Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Section 322.025 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 322.025. STATE AGENCY REPORT ON SPENDING REDUCTION | ||
| MEASURES. (a) Not later than December 1 of each even-numbered year, | ||
| each state agency shall submit to the governor, lieutenant | ||
| governor, speaker of the house of representatives, and Legislative | ||
| Budget Board a detailed report identifying measures by which the | ||
| agency can reduce the agency's biennial expenditures by 1 percent, | ||
| 5 percent, and 10 percent. | ||
| (b) The Legislative Budget Board by rule may adopt standards | ||
| for the report required by this section, including rules governing | ||
| the format, content, and methods of submission of the report. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
