	S.B. No. 398




	AN ACT
	relating to the board of hospital managers of the Lubbock County
	Hospital District.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
	SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 1053.051, Special
	District Local Laws Code, is amended to read as follows:
	(a) The board consists of not fewer than six [~~five~~] and not
	more than eight [~~seven~~] managers appointed as follows:
	(1) one ex officio manager appointed by the Texas Tech
	University Board of Regents; and
	(2) the remaining managers appointed by the
	commissioners court.
	SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
	a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
	provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
	Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
	Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
