A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the form of the Legislative Budget Board's report of
equalized funding elements to the commissioner of education and the
legislature.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 42.007(b), Education Code, is amended to
read as follows:
(b) Before each regular session of the legislature, the
board shall[, as determined by the board,] report the equalized
funding elements to the commissioner and the legislature. A report
under this section must be presented in a single written report
containing only:
(1) the equalized funding elements under Subsection
(c);
(2) a summary of the board's research methods and
findings; and
(3) a summary of any public comments received by the
board under Subsection (a).
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
