S.B. No. 27

AN ACT
relating to the online broadcast of open meetings of institutions
of higher education.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 551.121(f), Government Code, is amended
to read as follows:
(f) Each part of the telephone conference call meeting that
is required to be open to the public must [shall] be:
(1) audible to the public at the location specified in
the notice of the meeting as the location of the meeting;
(2) broadcast over the Internet in the manner
prescribed by Section 551.128; and
(3) [shall be] recorded and[. The recording shall be]
made available to the public in an online archive located on the
Internet website of the entity holding the meeting.
SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
a meeting for which notice is posted under Section 551.043,
Government Code, on or after the effective date of this Act.
Meetings for which notice is posted before the effective date of
this Act are governed by the law in effect at that time.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
