	A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
	AN ACT
	relating to the duties of tenured faculty at public institutions of
	higher education.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
	SECTION 1. Section 51.942(a)(3), Education Code, is amended
	to read as follows:
	(3) "Neglect of duty" means continuing or repeated
	substantial neglect of professional responsibilities, including
	responsibilities for:
	(A) engaging in classroom, laboratory, seminar,
	or clinical instruction;
	(B) pursuing research through study,
	investigation, discovery, and creation; and
	(C) attending to administrative tasks.
	SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
