| relating to a revision of rules applicable to hospital construction | ||
| by the Department of State Health Services. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. (a) The Department of State Health Services | ||
| shall review rules adopted under 25 T.A.C. Part 1, Chapter 133 | ||
| (Hospital Licensing), Subchapter I (Physical Plant and | ||
| Construction Requirements), and revise those rules as necessary to | ||
| conform to current best practices in hospital construction. The | ||
| revision shall include the repeal or amendment of rules that are | ||
| obsolete, redundant, unreasonably burdensome, or otherwise | ||
| ineffective. | ||
| (b) The repeal or amendment of a rule described by | ||
| Subsection (a) of this section shall be made in compliance with | ||
| state and federal law. | ||
| (c) The revision required by Subsection (a) of this section | ||
| shall be completed not later than December 31, 2017. | ||
| (d) This section expires January 1, 2018. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | ||
