| relating to the award of grants from the skills development fund. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 303.003, Labor Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (b-3) to read as follows: | ||
| (b-3) Funds awarded under this section, other than funds | ||
| awarded under Subsection (b-2), may be awarded only to support | ||
| job-training purposes that address the needs of high-demand | ||
| occupations, as identified by: | ||
| (1) the applicable local workforce development board's | ||
| regional targeted or high-demand occupations list; or | ||
| (2) the commission's most recent growth occupations | ||
| report under Section 302.019. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
