| relating to increasing funding for the basic allotment under the | ||
| Foundation School Program. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 42, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 42.2526 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 42.2526. FUNDING FOR BASIC ALLOTMENT FROM GENERAL | ||
| REVENUE. (a) The amount by which the comptroller reduces the | ||
| amount transferred to the economic stabilization fund to prevent | ||
| the amount in the fund from exceeding the limit in effect for that | ||
| biennium under Section 49-g(g), Article III, Texas Constitution, | ||
| shall be transferred by the comptroller to the Foundation School | ||
| Program for the purpose of funding the basic allotment. The | ||
| transfer shall be made not later than the 90th day of each fiscal | ||
| year. | ||
| (b) The amount described by Subsection (a) is in addition to | ||
| other amounts appropriated by the legislature for the purpose of | ||
| funding the basic allotment. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | ||
