| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 7, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 7.0081 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 7.0081. PUBLIC ACCESS TO SNAPSHOT DATA. (a) In this | ||
| section, "Snapshot: School District Profiles" means the annual | ||
| report published by the agency that provides the public with an | ||
| overview of public education in Texas, at both the state and local | ||
| levels, and that includes multiple data elements, summary tables, | ||
| and a peer search function. | ||
| (b) The agency annually shall prepare and publish on its | ||
| Internet website Snapshot: School District Profiles, using the | ||
| same data elements and the same "summary tables," "district detail | ||
| search," "item definitions," "download statistics," and "peer | ||
| search" used in Snapshot 2020. | ||
| (c) The agency shall prepare and publish Snapshot: School | ||
| District Profiles, using the information described in Subsection | ||
| (b), for school years 2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023 not later | ||
| than December 31, 2023. | ||
| (d) This subsection and Subsection (c) expire December 1, | ||
| 2024. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
