| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter I, Chapter 75, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 75.552 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 75.552. JUDICIAL IDENTIFICATION CARD. (a) The Office | ||
| of Court Administration of the Texas Judicial System shall issue a | ||
| judicial identification card to each judge or justice of: | ||
| (1) a district court; | ||
| (2) a court of appeals; | ||
| (3) the court of criminal appeals; and | ||
| (4) the supreme court. | ||
| (b) The judicial identification card issued under | ||
| Subsection (a) must contain a photograph of the judge or justice and | ||
| identify the judge or justice as a member of the judiciary of the | ||
| State of Texas. | ||
| (c) An individual, corporation, or association may not deny | ||
| the holder of a judicial identification card access to goods, | ||
| services, or facilities, except as provided by Section 521.460, | ||
| Transportation Code, or in regard to the operation of a motor | ||
| vehicle, because the holder has a judicial identification card | ||
| rather than a driver's license. A judge or justice may use a | ||
| judicial identification card in the performance of the judge's or | ||
| justice's official duties. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | ||
