| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 91, Transportation Code, | ||
| is amended by adding Section 91.076 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 91.076. USE OF CERTAIN FEDERAL FUNDS FOR MASS TRANSIT | ||
| PASSENGER RAIL PROJECT. The department, a local governmental | ||
| entity, or another political subdivision of this state may not use | ||
| money provided by the Federal Transit Administration for a mass | ||
| transit passenger rail project. | ||
| SECTION 2. Section 91.076, Transportation Code, as added by | ||
| this Act, applies only to federal funds from the Federal Transit | ||
| Administration provided to the Texas Department of Transportation, | ||
| a local governmental entity, or another political subdivision of | ||
| this state on or after the effective date of this Act. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
