| WHEREAS, Lucia Alderete Anaya of McGregor passed away on | ||
| March 5, 2011, at the age of 89, leaving her circle of family and | ||
| friends to cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her | ||
| company; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born in McGregor on January 9, 1922, the former | ||
| Lucia Alderete was the daughter of Narcisso and Tomasa Ramirez | ||
| Alderete; she married Jose Anaya on September 27, 1952, and through | ||
| the years the couple became the parents of five children, Juan Luis, | ||
| Juan, Diana, Bea, and Teresa; the couple spent more than two decades | ||
| together, until Mr. Anaya's death in 1976; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Anaya worked for Westview Manor Nursing Home | ||
| and Moody Care Center before joining Smead Manufacturing in 1978; a | ||
| dedicated employee, she retired in 1991; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This esteemed woman delighted in spending time with | ||
| her children, teaching them Mexican cooking and sharing with them | ||
| her many crocheted creations; she was also a talented harmonica | ||
| player who enjoyed playing for friends and family; moreover, she | ||
| and her husband helped found St. Eugene Catholic Church, and Mrs. | ||
| Anaya was a member of the church's altar society; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Lucia Anaya lived a caring and purposeful life, and | ||
| those who were privileged to share in her love and friendship will | ||
| forever remember her with great tenderness and affection; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lucia Alderete | ||
| Anaya and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to | ||
| her children and their spouses, Juan and Tracie Anaya, Diana and | ||
| Roger McMaster, Bea and Larry Kruse, and Teresa and Kelvin Yaun; to | ||
| her 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and to her other | ||
| relatives and friends; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lucia | ||
| Anaya. | ||
