R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade and
Palooza is marking its 10th anniversary on March 18-19, 2022; and
WHEREAS, First held in 2012, the annual celebration takes
place in Mansfield, the official Pickle Capital of Texas, and it has
grown to attract tens of thousands of visitors each year;
festivities include pickle eating contests, live music, a retail
vendor market, and the Pickle Parade and Palooza, which features
dozens of floats and marching groups; and
WHEREAS, The Pickle Parade and Palooza is organized by the
Pickled Mansfield Society, a volunteer nonprofit group that
provides college scholarships to area students and supports the
local Feed the Kids program; in addition, the event is presented by
the Mansfield Pickle Queens, who contribute to their community by
hosting and participating in a number of charitable events; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Pickle Parade and Palooza
has delighted area residents and visitors alike by offering
opportunities for fun and fellowship, and all those who contribute
to the success of the event are indeed deserving of special
recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 10th anniversary of the World's
Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade and Palooza and extend to its
sponsors, organizers, and attendees sincere best wishes for an
enjoyable and memorable event.
