	H.R. No. 962



	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
	by a great and enduring love, Rufus and Betty Ruth Hurley of Temple
	celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 25, 2011; and
	WHEREAS, "Bud" Hurley and the former Betty Ruth Higdon were
	united in matrimony in Monroe, Louisiana, in 1951; through the
	years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made
	even richer with the addition of their daughter, Renee Vanderpool,
	and two grandsons; and
	WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Hurley retired
	from Sun Oil Company after 35 years as an offshore helicopter pilot;
	Mrs. Hurley was employed by Sears for more than two decades; and
	WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
	world during the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife
	have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
	strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
	and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
	Legislature hereby congratulate Rufus and Betty Ruth Hurley on
	their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
	wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hurley as an expression of high regard by
	the Texas House of Representatives.
