| WHEREAS, Phoebe Rogers of Young County 4-H was named the | ||
| recipient of a 2017 4-H Gold Star Award; and | ||
| WHEREAS, First presented in 1933, the Gold Star Award was | ||
| created to recognize the hard work of exemplary 4-H members; it is | ||
| the highest county-level achievement prize conferred by 4-H; and | ||
| WHEREAS, To qualify for the Gold Star Award, members must | ||
| demonstrate leadership ability and participate in one or more | ||
| community service initiatives; in addition, they are required to | ||
| belong to 4-H for a minimum of three years, to complete projects in | ||
| three different areas of emphasis, and to participate in a variety | ||
| of activities; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through her hard work and commitment to excellence, | ||
| Phoebe Rogers has brought great credit to her 4-H club, and she may | ||
| indeed look forward to a future bright with promise; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Phoebe Rogers on her receipt of a | ||
| 4-H Gold Star Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Rogers as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
