| WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by | ||
| many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this | ||
| significant honor by Chase Parker Heffernan of Georgetown also | ||
| heralds a future bright with opportunity and promise; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A freshman at Georgetown High School and a member of | ||
| First United Methodist Church who currently attends Wellspring | ||
| United Methodist Church, this fine young Texan has mastered a | ||
| number of important skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he | ||
| has earned 33 merit badges requiring expertise in such diverse | ||
| areas as first aid, personal fitness, and environmental science, | ||
| and he has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while | ||
| undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which involved constructing | ||
| two garden boxes for the students at Ford Elementary School; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Having contributed 121 volunteer hours to 33 service | ||
| projects, Mr. Heffernan has served his peers as a leader, and in so | ||
| doing, he has exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy | ||
| Scouts are renowned; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for | ||
| attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Chase Heffernan has | ||
| demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the organization and its | ||
| ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the | ||
| way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, | ||
| be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Chase Parker Heffernan on | ||
| attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best | ||
| wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Heffernan as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
