R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, July 10, 2017, marks the 50th wedding anniversary of
Edward and Joyce Woods of San Antonio, and this happy event provides
a fitting opportunity to reflect on their rewarding journey
together as husband and wife; and
WHEREAS, Edward L. Woods Sr. and the former Joyce M. Williams
were joined in matrimony in 1967 in Baltimore, Maryland; over the
years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes
their children, Edward L. Woods Jr. and Mya Janiece Elaine Woods;
and
WHEREAS, The couple are valued residents of San Antonio,
where Mrs. Woods was born and raised; she is a certified
cosmetologist, and Mr. Woods, who hails from Chicago and Vicksburg,
Mississippi, proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years;
and
WHEREAS, The five decades of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Woods
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who
know them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Edward and Joyce Woods on their
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Woods as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
