| WHEREAS, Lieutenant Dennis Stanek retired from the West | ||
| University Place Fire Department on January 11, 2017, after 43 | ||
| years of dedicated public service; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A native of West University Place, Dennis Stanek | ||
| began his exemplary tenure with the department on July 1, 1973; he | ||
| started out as a firefighter and was quickly promoted, earning the | ||
| rank of lieutenant in 1976; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the course of his outstanding career, | ||
| Lieutenant Stanek worked tirelessly in support of the fire | ||
| department's mission to protect lives and property; he was one of | ||
| the first paramedics in the department, and he was instrumental in | ||
| providing the city with its first ambulances, built out of | ||
| converted vans; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dennis Stanek greatly benefited the residents of | ||
| West University Place through his professionalism and devotion to | ||
| public safety, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his | ||
| exceptional record of achievement; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Lieutenant Dennis Stanek on the | ||
| occasion of his retirement from the West University Place Fire | ||
| Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; | ||
| and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Lieutenant Stanek as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
