R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Dennis Stanek retired from the West
University Place Fire Department on January 11, 2017, after 43
years of dedicated public service; and
WHEREAS, A native of West University Place, Dennis Stanek
began his exemplary tenure with the department on July 1, 1973; he
started out as a firefighter and was quickly promoted, earning the
rank of lieutenant in 1976; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of his outstanding career,
Lieutenant Stanek worked tirelessly in support of the fire
department's mission to protect lives and property; he was one of
the first paramedics in the department, and he was instrumental in
providing the city with its first ambulances, built out of
converted vans; and
WHEREAS, Dennis Stanek greatly benefited the residents of
West University Place through his professionalism and devotion to
public safety, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
exceptional record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lieutenant Dennis Stanek on the
occasion of his retirement from the West University Place Fire
Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Lieutenant Stanek as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
