H.R. No. 95

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Billy and Sarah Edwards
of O'Donnell celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on
December 25, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Billy Edwards and the former Sarah Prather were
joined in matrimony in 1960, and through the years they have been
blessed with a treasured family that includes their children,
Shannon Edwards and his wife, Trish, and Jay Edwards, as well as six
grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs.
Edwards are both retired from the O'Donnell Independent School
District, where Mrs. Edwards taught English and journalism and
sponsored many University Interscholastic League teams over the
years; Mr. Edwards was the district's director of maintenance; the
couple also owned and operated a grocery store; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Edwards have enjoyed five decades of
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Billy and Sarah Edwards on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Edwards as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
