| WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced | ||
| by a great and enduring love, Ed and Nancy Billingsley of Lamesa | ||
| reached a meaningful milestone in their relationship when they | ||
| celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ed Billingsley and the former Nancy Goolsby were | ||
| united in matrimony on January 1, 1961; through the years, they have | ||
| nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with | ||
| the addition of their children, Jannelle Long and her husband, | ||
| David, and Leigh Ann Fry and her husband, Randy, and four cherished | ||
| grandchildren; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Billingsley celebrated this momentous | ||
| anniversary with an Alaskan cruise in 2010, which was a | ||
| well-deserved vacation after their recent retirement from their | ||
| farming and ranching endeavors; in addition to sharing an interest | ||
| in travel, they enjoy spending time with their family and | ||
| collecting antiques and have been longtime members of the Lamesa | ||
| Church of Christ; and | ||
| WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past | ||
| half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant | ||
| in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love | ||
| has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with | ||
| grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Ed and Nancy Billingsley on their | ||
| golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes | ||
| for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Billingsley as an expression of high | ||
| regard by the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
