R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Haskell L. Simon of Bay
  City were deeply saddened by his passing on August 26, 2020, at the
  age of 87; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Bay City, Haskell Simon was born to Aaron
  and Sonia Simon on August 29, 1932; he graduated from Texas A&M
  University and went on to serve in the U.S. Army, eventually
  retiring at the rank of captain; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of a multifaceted career, Mr. Simon
  worked in engineering, rice farming, and cattle ranching, and he
  also operated a restaurant; additionally, he served with
  distinction on a number of local boards and was a tireless advocate
  for water conservation in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Haskell Simon was known for his unwavering
  dedication to the community and his steadfast loyalty to his
  friends, and he will forever be a source of inspiration to those he
  leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Haskell L. Simon and
  extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his family: to his
  sister, Beatrice Simon Franzel, and her husband, Gerald; to his
  niece, Dee Mintz, and her husband, Steven; to his nephews, Michael
  Franzel and his wife, Sue, and Aaron Franzel and his wife, Ellen;
  and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Haskell
  Simon.
