| WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of | ||
| mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Virginia and Robert Lee | ||
| Martin celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on August | ||
| 5, 2021; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Martin were joined in matrimony in 1961 | ||
| at First United Methodist Church in Jacksboro; over the years, they | ||
| have been blessed with a fine family that includes their two | ||
| children, Karen and her husband, Mike, and Keith and his wife, | ||
| Tamara, as well as three grandchildren, Worth, Kayla, and the late | ||
| Carter Thornton; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Proud alumni of Jacksboro High School, Mr. Martin is | ||
| a member of the Class of 1960 and Mrs. Martin graduated the | ||
| following year with the Class of 1961; they both went on to attend | ||
| Tarleton State University; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Martin have enjoyed six decades of | ||
| abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an | ||
| exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting | ||
| commitment; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Virginia and | ||
| Robert Lee Martin on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to | ||
| them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Martin as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
