R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
of Guadalupe Garza Medrano, who passed away on February 16, 2015, at
the age of 77; and
WHEREAS, This Robstown native was born on May 3, 1937, to
Sixto and Amalia Garza; she was joined in matrimony to Jose Medrano,
and together they enjoyed a rewarding marriage until his passing;
she provided a loving and happy home for her children, Jose, Sally,
Sixto, Danny, and Marlynn, and she later knew the joy of welcoming
two additional generations into her cherished family; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Medrano was a devout Catholic, and she served
as a longtime congregant and member of the Altar Society at
St. Anthony Catholic Church in Robstown; and
WHEREAS, Guadalupe Medrano lived a caring and purposeful life
centered around her faith and her family, and she will forever be
remembered with deep affection by all those who held her dear; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Guadalupe Garza
Medrano and extend sincere sympathy to her loved ones: to her
children, Jose Medrano and his wife, Jennifer, Sally Cisneros and
her husband, Danny, Sixto Medrano and his wife, Becky, Danny
Medrano and his wife, Sonia, and Marlynn Douglas and her husband,
Dwayne; to her 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; to her
sisters, Elsa Garcia and her husband, Alfredo, Dora Aguilar and her
husband, Frank, Oralia Sauceda, Mary Benavidez and her husband,
Garland, Olga Rodriguez, Elida Flores and her husband, Manuel, and
Irma Yarmer; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Guadalupe
Garza Medrano.
