R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Demonstrating great skill and dedication, the
  Throckmorton High School football team won the University
  Interscholastic League Six-Man 1A Division 2 state championship on
  December 13, 2014; and
         WHEREAS, Matching up against Groom High School in the title
  game played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, the Greyhounds dominated
  their opponent as they had so many others before, winning by a score
  of 66-20 after their lead exceeded the 45-point "mercy rule" limit
  midway through the third quarter; this marked the 12th time that the
  team won in this manner during the 2014 campaign, and the
  championship victory closed out an exceptional season in which
  Throckmorton compiled a perfect 14-0 overall record; moreover, the
  title-game win gave the school its third state championship in the
  past four years, further cementing its reputation as a six-man
  football powerhouse; and
         WHEREAS, The team's explosive offensive attack was led by
  running back Casey Mitchell, who was named the Offensive Most
  Valuable Player of the game after rushing for 168 yards and scoring
  four touchdowns; on the defensive side, Coletyn King earned the MVP
  honor after making several key tackles and intercepting one pass;
  and
         WHEREAS, In their march to the state title, the Greyhounds
  also received valuable contributions from the other members of the
  roster: Carson Scrogum, Noah Batts, Lanham Brown, Adam Hernandez,
  Hayden Farquhar, Luke Hale, C. J. Rankin, Ben McCartney, Ben
  Hernandez, Keith Balthrop, Noah Navarro, and Parker Boyd; and
         WHEREAS, These talented athletes received essential guidance
  from head coach Shane Mallory, and the Greyhounds also benefited
  from the knowledgeable advice of assistant coaches Jason
  Blankenship and Ryan Dollar; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a state championship is a daunting task that
  requires countless hours of hard work and an unwavering commitment
  to excellence, and the members of the Throckmorton High School
  Greyhounds football team may take justifiable pride in their
  exceptional accomplishments on the gridiron; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Throckmorton High School
  football team on winning the 2014 UIL Six-Man 1A Division 2 state
  championship and extend to the team's players, coaches, and staff
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
