| WHEREAS, Deontra Morgan of Kountze has been chosen to receive | ||
| a 2015 Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This notable young Texan, who will graduate this | ||
| spring and attend college in the fall, was recognized for his | ||
| achievements at a special banquet in Austin on March 2, 2015; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Legislative Black Caucus was established | ||
| in 1973 to address issues of concern to the state's African American | ||
| community; each biennium, the group awards scholarships to | ||
| exceptional high school students from across the state; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Mr. Morgan has | ||
| demonstrated determination and perseverance in the pursuit of his | ||
| goals, and he may indeed look forward to a future bright with | ||
| promise; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Deontra Morgan on his receipt of a | ||
| Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship and extend to him | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; | ||
| and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Morgan as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
