R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Lorena High School students Josh King, Levi Golding,
  Austin Hill, Callie Jackson, and Janelle King performed in the
  Association of Texas Small School Bands Region 8 Concert on January
  19, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Texas Music Educators Association
  and the Association of Texas Small School Bands, the All-Region
  Band program brings together talented young musicians from across
  east central Texas; during the all-region clinic and concert event,
  participants practice with their peers in intensive rehearsal
  sessions in the morning and present their final performance in the
  evening; and
         WHEREAS, To qualify for the program, Mr. King, a
  percussionist, Mr. Golding, a bass clarinetist, Mr. Hill, a
  trumpeter, Ms. Jackson, a clarinetist, and Ms. King, a trombonist,
  carefully prepared audition pieces under the guidance of Lorena
  band directors Marcus Bryant and Damon Vela; the students were
  chosen by regional judges for their outstanding command of the
  music, and Mr. King and Mr. Golding have been selected to perform in
  the ATSSB All-State Band; and
         WHEREAS, Through hard work and many hours of practice, these
  five Lorena High student musicians have demonstrated exceptional
  ability and a commitment to excellence, and they can take
  justifiable pride in their achievements; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Josh King, Levi Golding, Austin
  Hill, Callie Jackson, and Janelle King on their selection to the
  ATSSB All-Region 8 Clinic and Concert and extend to them sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for these students as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
