R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Billy and Mary Peterson of Robinson
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on February 12, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Billy G. Peterson and the former Mary Lou Pursley
were united in matrimony in Waco in 1948; through the years, they
have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer
with the addition of 5 children and their spouses, Gene and Judy
Peterson, Linda and Glenn Bone, Donna and John Henry Stone, Julie
and Greg Brinker, and James and Cindy Peterson, as well as 11
grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Peterson retired from the local VA hospital
after 36 years of service; Mrs. Peterson is a homemaker; and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past six and a half decades, this devoted husband
and wife have remained constant in their commitment to each other,
and the strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's
challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Billy and Mary Peterson on their
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Peterson as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
