	H.R. No. 830



	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Gary Dougharty retired from the Jasper Fire
	Department in February 2015, drawing to a close his three and a half
	decades of service as a volunteer firefighter; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Dougharty first joined the Jasper Fire
	Department in 1980, and over the course of his exemplary 35-year
	tenure, he has distinguished himself in a number of positions; in
	2005, he became assistant chief, and the following year, he was
	elected chief of the department; and
	WHEREAS, Throughout this time, Mr. Dougharty has earned the
	respect and admiration of his fellow volunteers, and on the
	occasion of his retirement, he was named the Firefighter of the
	Year; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Dougharty's dedication, skill, and commitment
	to protecting the lives and property of the public have greatly
	benefited the citizens of Jasper, and he may indeed reflect with
	pride on his exceptional record of service as he embarks upon the
	next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
	Legislature hereby congratulate Gary Dougharty on his retirement
	from the Jasper Fire Department and extend to him sincere best
	wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for Mr. Dougharty as an expression of high regard by the
	Texas House of Representatives.
