WHEREAS, The marching band of Panhandle High School achieved | ||
great distinction with its outstanding performance at the | ||
University Interscholastic League 2A State Marching Band Contest, | ||
which was held at the Alamodome in San Antonio on October 31, 2023; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Facing off against other top marching bands from | ||
across Texas, the Panhandle High ensemble delivered an outstanding | ||
showing at the state championship event; guided by band director | ||
John Bratton, the Pride of Panhandle band captured the bronze medal | ||
in the 2A contest, securing the highest finish at a state | ||
competition in program history; and | ||
WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering resolve to give | ||
their very best, the talented young performers of the Panhandle | ||
High School Marching Band have earned the admiration of their | ||
fellow students and their many community supporters, and they may | ||
indeed take great pride in their achievements; now, therefore, be | ||
it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate the Panhandle | ||
High School band on its third-place finish at the 2023 UIL 2A State | ||
Marching Band Contest and that all those involved with the ensemble | ||
be extended sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the band as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
