| WHEREAS, Veteran attorney Kemper Williams, Jr., has been | ||
| honored by the Victoria County Bar Association with its legacy | ||
| award; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This prestigious award is presented biannually to | ||
| the most experienced lawyers in the area in recognition of their | ||
| skill, dedication, and long service to the community; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Williams entered law school at St. Mary's | ||
| University in San Antonio after completing his military service at | ||
| Fort Benning, Georgia; admitted to the state bar in 1958, he has | ||
| been a practicing attorney for 55 years, and he continues to handle | ||
| probate and real estate transactions for his clients; he also | ||
| served the city as mayor for 10 years, from 1963 to 1973; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Williams enjoyed the love | ||
| and support of his wife, the late Patricia Tuttle Williams, with | ||
| whom he shared nearly six decades; today, he takes great pride in a | ||
| fine family that has grown to include 4 children, 15 grandchildren, | ||
| and 6 great-grandchildren; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan's dedication, professionalism, | ||
| and commitment to the highest ideals of the law have greatly | ||
| benefited the citizens of Victoria, and he is truly deserving of | ||
| special recognition; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Kemper Williams, Jr., for | ||
| receiving the legacy award from the Victoria County Bar Association | ||
| and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, | ||
| be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Williams as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
