| WHEREAS, The creation of Christus Good Shepherd Health System | ||
| in February 2017 has opened new horizons for the provision of health | ||
| care services in East Texas; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This new nonprofit organization is the result of a | ||
| merger between Christus Health and the Gregg County-based Good | ||
| Shepherd Health System; one of three Christus health systems in the | ||
| region, Christus Good Shepherd encompasses a major medical center | ||
| in Longview that is the largest employer in the city and a sister | ||
| hospital in Marshall, as well as more than 30 clinics and other | ||
| satellite facilities; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Health care is essential to the well-being of every | ||
| man, woman, and child in the Lone Star State, and Christus Good | ||
| Shepherd Health System promises to be an invaluable asset to the | ||
| East Texas community; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby commemorate the establishment of the Christus | ||
| Good Shepherd Health System and extend to all those associated with | ||
| the organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the system as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
