| WHEREAS, Olney Hamilton Hospital officially marked the | ||
| opening of the Olney Family Clinic and Rehab/Wellness Center on | ||
| January 26, 2013; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The hospital itself has a long and rich history in | ||
| the community; Dr. George B. Hamilton established the original | ||
| facility in a single-story building in 1908, and within six years he | ||
| had built a two-story structure on the town's main street; a brick | ||
| building took its place in 1927 on the current site, and at the time | ||
| it was built, it was regarded as one of the most modern and | ||
| best-equipped hospitals west of Fort Worth; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Today, Olney Hamilton Hospital serves as a critical | ||
| access provider for parts of three counties in North Central Texas; | ||
| over the years, it has grown to offer 25 beds with three resident | ||
| physicians and professional services in the areas of family | ||
| practice, obstetrics, general surgery, and emergency care; and | ||
| WHEREAS, With the addition of this notable new facility, | ||
| citizens of Olney will gain even greater access to top-notch health | ||
| care professionals and rehabilitation and wellness programs for | ||
| improved long-term health; now, therefore, be it | ||

| ESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Olney Hamilton Hospital on the | ||
| opening of the Olney Family Clinic and Rehab/Wellness Center and | ||
| extend to all those associated with the institution sincere best | ||
| wishes for the future. | ||
