| WHEREAS, Captain Brett Baker Flagg Jr. of Frisco has rendered | ||
| outstanding service to his nation as a member of the United States | ||
| Army; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A 2006 graduate of Trinity Christian Academy in | ||
| Addison, where he was a National Merit Finalist, this gifted young | ||
| man earned an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West | ||
| Point; during his time at the academy, he completed Airborne School | ||
| and Air Assault School and received the Superintendent's Award for | ||
| Achievement; he also served as an intern with the President's | ||
| Council of Economic Advisors; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Following his graduation from West Point in 2010, | ||
| Brett Flagg was commissioned as a second lieutenant; he served in | ||
| Afghanistan as a cavalry scout platoon leader from July 2012 to | ||
| March 2013, earning the Bronze Star, and in 2014, he was promoted to | ||
| captain; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Captain Flagg is currently stationed at Fort Hood, | ||
| where he serves as squadron logistics officer with the 6th | ||
| Squadron, 9th U.S. Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry | ||
| Division; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to those | ||
| men and women who take up arms in the defense of our nation, and | ||
| Captain Brett Flagg has earned special distinction for his | ||
| patriotism, his professionalism, and his devotion to duty; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby honor Captain Brett Baker Flagg Jr. for his | ||
| exemplary service in the U.S. Army and extend to him sincere best | ||
| wishes for continued success and a bright future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Captain Flagg as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
