	H.R. No. 765



	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Longview native and Major League baseball player
	Chris Davis has set an inspiring example of philanthropy by making a
	generous donation to the Miracle League of East Texas; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Davis is a graduate of Longview High School and
	a former member of the Texas Rangers baseball team; though he now
	lives in Maryland, where he plays for the Baltimore Orioles, his
	strong connection to his hometown led him to present the Miracle
	League of East Texas with a $50,000 check; and
	WHEREAS, This outstanding group seeks to provide children who
	have mental or physical disabilities with the opportunity to play
	baseball in an accessible and safe space; the money given by
	Mr. Davis will go toward the construction of a Miracle Field that
	will serve countless families in Longview and the surrounding area;
	and
	WHEREAS, Chris Davis has made a meaningful difference in the
	lives of many East Texas residents, and it is truly a pleasure to
	honor him for his notable contribution; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
	Legislature hereby commend Chris Davis for his donation to the
	Miracle League of East Texas and extend to him sincere best wishes
	for the future; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for Mr. Davis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
	House of Representatives.
