WHEREAS, Those Texans who give freely of their time and | ||
talents to benefit the larger community make the world a better | ||
place through their actions; and | ||
WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the inspiring faith | ||
and leadership of James Turner, who passed away on June 2, 2012; and | ||
WHEREAS, James Turner served faithfully for 46 years as the | ||
Founder, Pastor, and Superintendent of Turners Chapel Church of God | ||
in Christ, and he leaves behind a legacy of good works that will | ||
long resonate in the community; and | ||
WHEREAS, Although Superintendent Turner is deeply missed, he | ||
will be forever remembered with great admiration and affection by | ||
all those who had the good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be | ||
it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory | ||
of James Turner and extend sincere sympathy to his wife, Sharon | ||
Ford-Turner; his seven biological children; fourteen step | ||
children; | ||
and the Turners Chapel Church Family; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the family of Superintendent James Turner. | ||
