	H.R. No. 710



	R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, Members of the Milford Chapter of the National Honor
	Society are visiting the State Capitol on February 28, 2017, to
	learn more about the functions of state government; and
	WHEREAS, Founded in 1921, the National Honor Society
	recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship,
	service, leadership, and character, and encourages them to become
	active in their schools and communities; today, more than one
	million students participate in the organization through local
	chapters across the country; and
	WHEREAS, The members of the Milford Chapter traveling to
	Austin are Lyric Brooks, Case Garza, Ivy Gaspar Sanchez, Jarvis
	Harris, Olivia Singleton, and Tyrell Sutton; and
	WHEREAS, These outstanding young Texans have exemplified the
	ideals of the organization through their dedicated volunteerism,
	which includes hosting blood drives, facilitating a weekend food
	drive for children at risk of hunger, and delivering food to the
	elderly with Meals on Wheels; and
	WHEREAS, The National Honor Society is helping to develop the
	leaders of tomorrow, and it is a pleasure to welcome the
	organization's Milford Chapter to the Capitol; now, therefore, be
	it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
	Legislature hereby recognize members of the Milford Chapter of the
	National Honor Society on their visit to the State Capitol and
	extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
	further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
	House of Representatives.
