| WHEREAS, Lawrence and Melba Bowers celebrated their 70th | ||
| wedding anniversary on February 1, 2017, and they may indeed | ||
| reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, On that memorable day in 1947, Lawrence Bowers and | ||
| the former Melba Clark exchanged the vows of matrimony in | ||
| Greenville, and over the course of their marriage, they have found | ||
| in each other a loving life partner; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Bowers count among their blessings a | ||
| caring family that includes their daughters, Patricia Bowers and | ||
| Linda Fisseler and her husband, Dale, as well as their | ||
| grandchildren, Jeff Parham, Ben Fisseler, and Stephanie Windhorst | ||
| and her husband, Zach, and their great-grandchildren, Avery and | ||
| Gage Windhorst, with whom they treasure spending many special | ||
| occasions; and | ||
| WHEREAS, For seven decades, Lawrence and Melba Bowers have | ||
| brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it | ||
| is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Lawrence and Melba Bowers on their | ||
| 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
