R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lawrence and Melba Bowers celebrated their 70th
wedding anniversary on February 1, 2017, and they may indeed
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;
and
WHEREAS, On that memorable day in 1947, Lawrence Bowers and
the former Melba Clark exchanged the vows of matrimony in
Greenville, and over the course of their marriage, they have found
in each other a loving life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Bowers count among their blessings a
caring family that includes their daughters, Patricia Bowers and
Linda Fisseler and her husband, Dale, as well as their
grandchildren, Jeff Parham, Ben Fisseler, and Stephanie Windhorst
and her husband, Zach, and their great-grandchildren, Avery and
Gage Windhorst, with whom they treasure spending many special
occasions; and
WHEREAS, For seven decades, Lawrence and Melba Bowers have
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lawrence and Melba Bowers on their
70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
