R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends have suffered an immeasurable
  loss with the passing of Mary Ellen Spiller of Jacksboro on March 7,
  2022, at the age of 87; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Guy and Lillian Hutson, the former
  Mary Hutson was born on October 5, 1934, in Grandfield, Oklahoma,
  and grew up with seven older siblings, Weldon, Harold, Raymond,
  Marie, Jerry, Jean, and Joyce; she graduated from Devol High School
  in Cotton County, Oklahoma, and continued her education at
  Draughon's Business College in Wichita Falls; and
         WHEREAS, While living in Wichita Falls, she met her future
  husband, James Spiller, who was stationed at Sheppard Air Force
  Base; the couple married on August 18, 1956, and became the proud
  parents of three children, David, Karen, and Scott; as the years
  passed, Mrs. Spiller had the privilege of seeing her family grow to
  include six grandsons and three great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Spiller skillfully balanced family life with a
  rewarding career as her husband's legal secretary in his solo
  practice and at Spiller & Spiller in Jacksboro; she also worked for
  Spiller Title for six decades; and
         WHEREAS, Sustained by a strong faith, Mrs. Spiller took an
  active role at First United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday
  school and singing with the choir; moreover, she was a valued member
  of the Business & Professional Women's Club of Jacksboro; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for her kindness, her strength of character,
  and her outgoing personality, Mary Spiller led a caring and
  purposeful life, and she will forever be a source of inspiration to
  those she leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary Ellen Spiller
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  children, David Spiller and his wife, Ginger, and Karen Forbis and
  her husband, Chris; to her daughter-in-law, Laura Spiller; to her
  grandsons, Mason, Reid, Drew, and Kyle Spiller and Alex and Joel
  Forbis; to her great-grandchildren, John, Carson, and Caroline
  Spiller; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Ellen
  Spiller.
